Reading Support Program

The Reading Support Program
  • The Literacy Ladder reading support program is centered around the client's needs in reading and writing.

  • It involves a formative assessment to find out his or her reading level and then instruction that caters to that level of reading.
  • Activities do not only involve seat-work but involve phonics, games, multi-sensory activities, writing stories, spelling strategies, board games and computer games.
Instructional Sessions
  • Each tutoring program consists of 10 instructional sessions (or 20 if tutoring is done twice a week). Sessions are delivered in a one-on-one setting.
  • At the end of each tutoring program the client will receive a letter detailing the progress made during the 10 sessions, skills to work on and the next steps to take.
Affordable Services
  • Clients are charged only a nominal fee for tutoring.
Location
  • Tutoring may take place in the client's home or at the closest public library. Online sessions are also an option.
  • It is our policy that tutors do not drive students/ children in their vehicles or the client's vehicles as part of the learning experience.
